This window depicts John the Baptist holding the banner ‘Ecce Agnus Dei (‘Behold the lamb of God). (left lancet) The right lancet depicts Jesus Christ dressed as a shepherd holding a small lamb.
Inscription:
‘Behold the Lamb of God. I am the Good Shepherd’.

Dedication:
‘In loving memory of Eliza, aged 8 years and James: Blackhall aged 4 ½ years died 11th March 1876. Children of John and Elizabeth Herdman; Hazelbank; Murrayfield’.
Artist/Designer:
Nathaniel Bryson (1872-1918) was born in Edinburgh and trained in Stained Glass window design and also exhibited in the RSA. His studio was based in Greenside near Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
