St Aloysius Gonzaga Window

Window of one arched rectangular light.

This window depicts St Aloysius Gonzaga being guided to Heaven by 2 figures, one an angel and the other, assumedly the Virgin Mary. St. Aloysius, for who this Church is named, is portrayed wearing the black cassock of the Jesuit order. There is an elaborately painted Architectural canopy framing the scene. Aloysius Gonzaga died on 21, June 1591 as a young man of 23 after tending to plague victims. He was beatified in 1605 and canonized in 1726. He is the patron saint of young students and all Christian youth.

Inscription:
Two cherubs in the top panel are holding a banner stating “ADMG” (translation: for the greater glory of God). In the bottom panel, there is an inscription panel bearing the name of Aloysius Gonzaga.
