The Ascension
Window of three round top lancet lights.
This window depicts the apparition to/and blessing of the Disciples (nine are seen in this window) and the Ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven.
This was the first stained glass window installed in Mayfield Church.
Inscription:
Lancet 1:
‘While he blessed them’
Lancet 2:
‘He was parted from them’
Lancet 3:
‘And carried up into Heaven’.
Dedication:
‘To the Glory of God and in Memory of James Wilkie, who was ordained an Elder of the Free Church in 1843. Was Session Clerk of this Congregation and died December 17th 1896 aged 91 years’.

Ballantine and Gardiner- (Partnership: 1892-1905) This was a successful partnership between Alexander Ballantine (1841-1906) (son of James Ballantine) and Herbert Gardiner ( - ) of Leicester. They were incredibly prolific for their short partnership together.
