Glasgow: Renfield St. Stephen's Church of Scotland, Chapel
A rectangular window set into a wooden frame, installed onto a light box.
Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
This window depicts Jesus being visited in the Garden of Gethsemane by an angel who was sent from God in order to strengthen Jesus for his upcoming sacrifice. The halo emitting from Jesus is the a tri-partite halo, with a superimposed crown of thorns, foreshadowing the day ahead. The sky is dark with only a sliver of moon visible. Jesus is kneeling in foliage.
This window was originally installed in Maxwell Parish Church, 113 Pollock Street, Glasgow, which was demolished around 1966-1969. This window, along with others were removed from the Church before demolition. This window was resized and reworked in order to present the current panel in a light box. 1 of 4 windows in the Chapel.
