The Glasgow Window
Window of three rounded trefoiled lancets with tracery.
This window abstractly depicts the history of the Catholic Church in the Glasgow area. The window contains symbols from Glasgow Coat of Arms such as the fish and a tree with a bell. There is also a depiction of Glasgow Cathedral. The meeting of St. Mungo and St. Columba is loosely depicted in this window. St Columba stands in his coracle with a green and blue background, representing the seas around Iona. St. Mungo is standing in the Moleindar Burn which has now been built over in Glasgow.
This window was installed in 2009.
Artist:
Lorraine Lamond (1963-___) was born in Dumfries and studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a first class honours degree in 1986.
