The Nativity
A rectangular window set into a wooden frame, installed onto a light box.
This windows depicts the Nativity, or the birth of Jesus Christ. The baby Jesus is cradled by Mary, overlooked by Joseph whose hands are folded in prayer. The Star of Bethlehem is also seen in the background. Lilies, a symbol of Mary are seen to Mary’s left side.
This window was originally installed in Maxwell Parish Church, 113 Pollock Street, Glasgow, which was demolished around 1966-1969. This window, along with others were removed from the Church before demolition. This window was resized and reworked in order to present the current panel in a light box. 1 of 4 windows in the Chapel.
