'A Flock of Fishes', Right Window
This piece is a panel inserted into the right main window on street level at Cafe Gandolfi. This panel was commissioned by Iain Mackenzie, Cafe Gandolfi's founder for the opening of this restaurant.
The panel depicts a shoal of fish called Gatern Gaternus or more commonly called 'Sweet Lips’, the same fish as in the panel on the left, however, these fish are in motion.
Artist:
John Kenneth Clark (1957- )- was born in Dumbarton. He attended the Glasgow School of Art for his BA and MA graduating in 1980 and 1981 respectively. Clark has completed many notable commissions in Scotland and abroad and has made a massive contribution to modern Stained Glass design. ‘A Flock of Fishes’ was award a Saltire Award for Art in Architecture in 1988.
