Window of three trefoil headed lights, arranged in two stages with tracery.

This window depicts figures personifying Hope, Faith, Charity, (upper stage) Truth, Justice and Mercy (lower stage).

The tracery depicts angels holding banners.

Inscription:
Upper stage:
Spes (Hope)/ Fides (Faith) / Caritas (Charity)

Lower stage:
Veritas (Truth) / Justitia (Justice)/ Misericordia (Mercy)

Tracery:
“Gloria in Excelsis Deo”
“Be thou faithful unto death” (Revelations 2:10)
“Are they not all ministering spirit” (Hebrews 1:14)

Dedication:
(spanning upper and lower stages)
To the Glory of/God and in Lov-/ing Memory of/Rhoda Clees/wife of the first minister of this /Restored Church/who died 4th Decemb-/er 1887 erected by members of/the congregation/and other friends.

Artist/Designer:
Daniel Cottier- (1838-1891) was born in Glasgow. He apprenticed with the firm John Cairney & CO to learn glass staining, decoration and embossing. He trained and worked with many artists and studios in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London until in 1864 he set up a studio with Andrew Wells in 1864. As Cottier’s popularity grew he set up another gallery and studio in London (c1869), New York, Sydney and Melbourne. He is credited for bringing the Aesthetic movement to the United States.
