Memorial Window- Reverend Robert Anderson

Window of two lancet lights.
This window depicts two central coat of arms. Except for these, the windows are of a grisaille design.

Inscription:
‘Erected by his son Thomas Anderson of Glendrisaig, Advocate, 1857.’

Dedication:
‘In memory of Robert Anderson one of the ministers of this church for 33 years who died January 24, 1836 in the 69th year of his age and 33rd of his ministry. Dr. Anderson held the Collegiate charge from 1804.’

Artist/Designer:
Francis Barnett (1814-1880) Barnett was born in York and trained at his father’s studio based in York- John Barnett & Sons. It appears that company disbanded in 1853. By 1859, Francis and his brother Mark relocated to Edinburgh and started up a studio based in Leith called the Edinburgh and Leith Stained Glass Works. In 1894, Barnett started his own studio called Barnett & Son, with his son William Collinridge Barnett.
