The Crucifixion

Window of three lancets with tracery.

This window depicts Jesus Christ being crucified. He is flanked by two angels holding the sun and the moon. There is a large crowd watching the scene, including Roman soldiers, James, John and Mary Magdalene. The Virgin Mary is kneeling on the ground with her face in her hands.

Dedication:
‘To the Glory of God and in grateful and proud remembrance of the young men of St. Matthews who fell in the Great War 1914-1918.’
