St. Peter

Window of one trefoil headed lancet light.

This window depicts the figure of Saint Peter holding the Scripture his left hand, and the keys to heaven in his right.

Inscription:
‘Saint Peter’

Dedication:
‘To the Glory of God and in Loving Remembrance of James Wylie J.P, Elder of this Parish.’

Artist/Designer:
William (Willie) Wilson (1905-1972): Wilson was born in Edinburgh. Wilson apprenticed with James Ballantine II, while attending classes at Edinburgh College of Art. He started his own studio in 1937. The studio was incredibly productive, producing a mass amount of glass for Scotland and England. Wilson slowly became blind through diabetes, yet the studio continued to produce. Wilson was a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and he was awarded an OBE.
